A Clear, Thoughtful Process So You Know What to Expect

Starting care for chronic pain and mental health can feel overwhelming especially if you’ve had mixed experiences in the past.

This process is designed to be straightforward, collaborative, and focused on helping you move forward with clarity.

How Our Process Works

Not sure where to begin? Turning Tide Health helps adults whose chronic pain, anxiety, depression, sleep, medication concerns, and daily function are connected.

The first step is scheduling an initial consultation.

Before Your First Visit

  • Complete intake forms
  • Insurance verification (if using insurance)
  • Gather current medications and prior treatment history

This is an opportunity to:

  • Share what you’ve been experiencing
  • Ask questions about care
  • Determine whether this approach feels like a good fit

There is no pressure to commit just a chance to understand your options.

If you decide to move forward, the next step is a more in-depth evaluation.

This includes:

  • Your history of chronic pain and symptoms
  • Anxiety, depression, and emotional health
  • Past treatments and what has or hasn’t helped
  • Current medications, including pain medications
  • How symptoms are affecting your daily life

The goal is to understand the full picture not just isolated symptoms.

Based on your evaluation, we develop a treatment plan tailored to your needs.

This may include:

  • Treatment for anxiety and/or depression
  • Chronic pain management strategies
  • Medication management when appropriate
  • Nervous system and stress response support
  • Guidance around pain-related treatment decisions

If opioid medications are part of your care, this is addressed thoughtfully and collaboratively, with a focus on safety and stability.

Care doesn’t stop after the initial plan.

Ongoing visits are used to:

  • Monitor progress
  • Adjust treatment as needed
  • Address new or changing symptoms
  • Support long-term stability and function

Treatment evolves with you so it continues to meet your needs over time.
